What Comes Next?
Hi, Justin with BerryGood Games here!
I'm excited to say that our first game Vale has received a lot of helpful responses, and that a lot of quality of life changes are on the way soon! A few tweaks here and there and a couple of additions to polish up the feel of our short story, and if you feel like you'd like to see more you're welcome to follow us for more updates and some sneak peeks at our upcoming projects!
Things to expect in Vale1.1 :
- Quality of life fixes: mouse sensitivity and brightness sliders as well as a functional pause screen
- Main menu and end credits: A place to choose to start the game, see the credits, and change your settings before you load in, as well as an ending screen to list the developers (hey- that's us!) and the talented artists, programmers, and musicians who created the assets that made this possible
- Audio enhancements: Footsteps and idle sounds, sizzling in the kitchen, and a crackling fireplace. A few atmospheric enhancements to tie it all together
- Performance sweep and optimization enhancements: A couple tweaks to rendering and particles to make the game smooth like butter (maybe even like a criminal undercover?)
- Note tweaks: Changing of some of the text formatting and the note display- as well as squashing that nasty menu-close bug!
When?
We are currently aiming to put the release of Vale 1.1 out shortly after the game jam voting window ends (as I don't believe there's a way to update it before then). If you're interested in the update feel free to follow BerryGood Games here on itch.io, and keep your eyes and ears open as we are about to launch out social media in order to better connect with you all!
Go ahead and let us know your thoughts in the comments, and if there's anything else you'd like us to address in the v1.1 update. And thank you again for your interest in us.
Until next time, Vale.
